Why Should I Come?

"I can't begin to tell you what the Lord has done in our school since Get Real. In all my years of teaching, I have never seen the impact of 1 retreat/conference on Christian school students as this one. Get Real ministry truly knows how to reach students of Christian Schools. Mentoring groups have broken out all over campus with our high school students mentoring our middle school. Prayer groups have started during lunch breaks. It has been awesome! With that, spiritual attack has ensued so please keep us in your prayers. Mark Hall and other Get Real members came to Dave & Buster's on Monday to hang out with our group. How amazing that something so simple could show the students that your people truly have a heart and desire to reach this generation. As a teacher and a parent, thank you. "It was great getting to know you the past few days. I feel like I known you for years. The last couple of days in school it has been really strange. The emptiness is similar to saying good-bye to some real close friends.
We let the kids share today in chapel about how God spoke to them and both the middle and high school had much to say. The high school especially was impacted. We had a total of 35 kids surrender to the Lord’s call. Many students had specifically focused their prayers on some of their classmates and Lord answered their prayer abundantly. Particularly, four of our senior girls were saved. They shared how God used different parts of the conference and how each speaker and song spoke straight to them. Tears were flowing all over. Some of our Christian leaders spoke up and confessed that they didn’t trust that God would reach some who were saved, and how humbled and ashamed they were when they saw them go forward.
I have students who want to start bible studies before school, during lunch, and after school. They want to start a prayer web and they are trying to get outreach ideas. God is doing a mighty work here and I am sure He’s not finished."

What's The Cost?
The registration fee for the Get Real Spiritual Emphasis Conference is $35 per person. This is AMAZING for a conference of this type. This includes entrance to all sessions for both days, plus a full color workbook and a conference t-shirt. (An optional box lunch, which is $8 per day, is available). You pay NOTHING else! Students spend more than this on a night out to the movies. This event is much more important.
How Do We Pay For It?
The best way for you to pay for the event is to include the $35 registration fee into your regular tuition or student activity fees for the upcoming school year. This way the entire conference is paid for when your school begins. This eliminates having to ask parents for more money after the fact. If you are planning to attend the conference, your deposit ($15 per student and teacher, is due as soon as possible since seats are limited. This reserves your place at the conference and will be estimated on the number of students you will have attending.
Who Do We Bring To The Conference?
Since this is a “SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS” Conference, we ask that you bring your entire middle and high school student body and their teachers, faculty and staff. Most schools have a Spiritual Emphasis “week” with one chapel a day for five days. The Get Real Conference has six major sessions, so in a two day event, your students get more than if you had a typical Spiritual Emphasis “week.” Because of the magnitude of this Christian School Conference, we only bring it to certain cities every few years. This is why we ask that you bring all of your middle and high school students. If not, some of your students will never have the opportunity of being a part of this special event.
How Long is The Conference?
The conference is two (2) days with three (3) huge general sessions per day along with one (1) break-out session each day for teachers and coaches. There is a break-out session specifically designed for teachers & faculty and one for coaches. Each day the conference starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 2:30 PM. How Do We Get To The Conference?
Transportation is left up to the individual participating schools. We try to schedule each conference in a location that is easily accessible from major highways. We also try to invite schools that are within a 50 mile radius to our host school. There are some schools invited that are farther away because of the interest shown. Some schools make it an overnight trip and stay in local hotels. If you are considering this and would like a list of hotels close to the conference, please contact us at 1.800.356.4963 and we will be more than happy to provide you a list of local hotels. Most schools have buses or vans that they use in order to get to and from the conference. Since this is a special event, some schools rent buses or vans for this occasion. This is totally up to the participating schools. We do end the conference at 2:30 PM allowing for schools to take their students and staff back to their local school in order to be picked up by their parents, etc. We encourage you to not miss a moment of the conference, therefore, if you have to leave earlier than 2:30 PM each day, we encourage you to consider staying overnight. IT IS WORTH IT!
Is Lunch Provided?
An optional box lunch is provided for an additional $8 per person. These must be purchased no later than one month prior to the event. Meal tickets will be mailed to each school no later than 2 weeks from the date of the conference. You may also opt to eat at local fast food establishments.
Can't We Just Come To The Next One?
The Get Real Conference ONLY comes to certain cities every few years. We encourage you to participate in this one because by the time we are back in your city, the students you have now may be graduated and miss out on one of the biggest, potentially life-changing events of their lives!
